Use this checklist to compare written offers by total cost, dates, room details, campus route, payment recipient, guarantor position, and cancellation risk.
A lower weekly figure is not automatically the lower-cost contract. Put both offers into the same format before you decide.
The comparison checklist
- Exact university campus and property address
- Move-in date, contract start, and contract end
- Room type, furnishing, shared facilities, and accessibility needs
- Total rent for the complete contract period
- Deposit, holding payment, and refund conditions
- Bills, utilities, insurance, and optional charges
- Payment dates, currency, and named payment recipient
- Guarantor, advance-rent, or alternative eligibility
- Cancellation, visa-refusal, deferral, and replacement-tenant terms
- Verified route to campus at the times you expect to travel
- Written offer and final contract saved together
- Independent verification before transferring money
